Overview
A growing technology company serving over 9,000 clients globally is seeking a Revenue Manager to lead the monthly revenue close process as the organization scales into consumption-based and hybrid billing models. This role will be responsible for managing revenue recognition, partnering with cross-functional teams, and improving revenue processes.
Responsibilities
- Own the monthly revenue close process across subscription, consumption-based, and hybrid billing arrangements, including journal entries and deferred revenue reconciliation.
- Maintain deferred revenue waterfalls, schedules, and standalone selling price (SSP) allocation documentation as billing models evolve.
- Identify and flag revenue recognition implications on new contracts and deals; escalate complex or non-standard structures to senior leadership.
- Collaborate with Revenue Operations, Deal Desk, and Legal teams on deal reviews, contract terms, and non-standard payment structures.
- Prepare audit-ready workpapers for revenue transactions and support the annual audit process.
- Apply an AI-forward mindset to identify opportunities to automate revenue recognition entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of revenue accounting experience, including ownership of month-end close processes.
- Ability to independently manage revenue close across subscription and consumption/usage-based models.
- Strong working knowledge of ASC 606 concepts such as variable consideration, SSP, and contract modifications, with the ability to identify issues and escalate appropriately.
- Experience partnering with Legal, Revenue Operations, and Deal Desk teams on contract and deal reviews.
- Proven track record of improving or building revenue processes in a growing environment.
- Experience with Metronome, Stripe Billing, or NetSuite is a plus.
- Comfortable using AI tools to enhance speed and accuracy of revenue recognition entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $99,000–$139,000 USD annually, depending on location and experience, with market rate adjustments.

- Zone 1: $119,000–$139,000
- Zone 2: $109,000–$128,000
- Zone 3: $99,000–$116,000

Remote position with salary adjusted based on location.
