Overview

This role involves establishing and managing the internal accounting function for a fast-growing company specializing in stablecoin infrastructure. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day financial operations including cash management, billing, collections, vendor payments, and month-end close processes. This is a foundational position focused on building and documenting accounting processes to support future scaling.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily banking and cash activities: code transactions, investigate discrepancies, and maintain an accurate, up-to-date cash position
  • Oversee accounts receivable and enterprise invoicing, including setting up new customer subscriptions, maintaining billing records, tracking payments, and resolving billing exceptions or failed payments
  • Handle accounts payable: coordinate vendor onboarding, process invoices, review coding and approvals, manage payment schedules, and maintain vendor records
  • Support month-end close activities by performing reconciliations, preparing workpapers and supporting schedules, and assisting with financial reporting, audits, and compliance
  • Lead the accounting transition by partnering with external accountants during knowledge transfer, documenting processes, and bringing recurring accounting activities in-house

Success Metrics (Year 1)

  • Daily cash transactions are reviewed, coded, and reconciled promptly, providing leadership with real-time cash visibility
  • Invoicing processes run efficiently with faster follow-up on missing payments and reduced collection delays
  • Routine accounting tasks previously handled externally are fully managed internally with documented procedures
  • Finance leadership is able to focus more on forecasting and strategic initiatives rather than transactional accounting

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including ownership of month-end close
  • Strong expertise in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bank reconciliations
  • Experience with Stripe or similar subscription billing platforms
  • Proficiency in ERP or accounting systems with accurate transaction coding
  • Proven ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to process improvement

Working Style

  • Collaborate closely with finance leadership and coordinate directly with external accounting teams during transition
  • Fully remote position requiring asynchronous documentation and proactive communication of issues such as discrepancies, failed payments, or close blockers
  • Utilize tools including Stripe, DualEntry, Bill.com, and other standard banking and reconciliation software
