Senior Accountant

Overview

A healthcare organization specializing in advanced compounding pharmacy and FDA-registered outsourcing facilities is seeking a Senior Accountant. This role is critical for ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and scalable accounting processes to support growth. The Senior Accountant will manage the monthly close process, maintain audit readiness, and implement automation to improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end monthly close process, delivering accurate and timely financial statements.
• Redesign close workflows to reduce manual effort and shorten cycle times.
• Apply sound judgment in complex accounting decisions with clear documentation.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and embed internal controls throughout accounting processes.
• Maintain continuous audit readiness with accurate reconciliations and supporting documentation.
• Identify and mitigate data integrity risks affecting financial reporting or compliance.
• Utilize automation and AI tools to accelerate reconciliations, variance analysis, and documentation.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and improve decision-making.
• Develop repeatable processes and tools to support consistent quality and scalability.
• Prioritize tasks based on business impact and deliver fast, accurate financial outputs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA certification or progress toward CPA strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years progressive accounting experience in high-growth environments.
• Proven ownership of close processes, complex accounting issues, and audit interactions.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting concepts.
• Experience with ERP systems and accounting tools; interest in automation and process improvement.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills to translate complex financial information.

Preferred Qualifications
