Senior Accountant - Government Contracting (Remote)

Overview

This role supports a national firm providing back-office accounting, finance, and HR services to government contractor businesses. The Senior Accountant will assist a large external client with project accounting, including GL close, financial statement production, and financial review and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Serve as accounting owner for assigned entities.
• Support project accounting across multiple entities with 100+ active projects.
• Perform full-cycle GL accounting and support close activities through financial statement production.
• Conduct financial review and analysis.
• Partner with nationwide Project Managers, a Financial Analyst, and an offshore accounting team.
• Work remotely while aligning with either CST or EST business hours.
• Travel once per month to various client locations as needed.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience with full-cycle GL accounting, project accounting, close, and analysis through financial statement production.
• Prior government contracting entity accounting experience is required; ideally experience is in construction, IT, or manufacturing.
• Experience working for companies with numerous multi-entities and high organizational complexity.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Curiosity, ability to learn quickly, and self-driven work style.

Compensation & Benefits

• $105,000 - $110,000 per year + bonus

Location

Remote (based anywhere in the US), working either CST or EST business hours.
