Overview

A leading provider of Applied Behavior Analysis services focused on improving the lives of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is seeking a Senior Accountant. This role supports a fast-growing organization by managing accounting operations, financial analysis, process improvements, and system implementations. Reporting to the Controller & Director of Strategic Finance, the Senior Accountant will contribute to building scalable, efficient accounting and finance functions with visibility to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll, accounts payable, month-end close entries, and reconciliations
  • Oversee the General Ledger and prepare/post journal entries in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Complete month-end close activities including reconciliations for accruals, prepaids, reserves, fixed assets, leases, depreciation/amortization, and debt
  • Support audits and examinations by preparing schedules and documentation for financial statements, 401k, insurance, tax, and compliance
  • Run bi-weekly payroll processing
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to automate and scale business processes, analyses, and reporting
  • Document and monitor internal controls and assist with internal audit procedures
  • Review business process designs to improve efficiency, quality, and regulatory compliance
  • Participate in developing and reviewing annual operating budgets and financial performance projections
  • Assist with financial and variance analysis of monthly results
  • Foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, feedback, and excellence

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience with strong general ledger and month-end close expertise
  • At least 2 years of public accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with accounting software; familiarity with Sage Intacct preferred
  • Knowledge of lease accounting (ASC 842) and lease agreement review
  • Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and financial formulas
  • Experience building financial models, automating reports, and analyzing large financial and operational datasets
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Power Query and Power Pivot preferred
  • Experience creating management and Board presentations using PowerPoint or similar tools
  • Prior exposure to C-Level executives and experience in a high-growth environment preferred
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting
  • Ability to learn new systems and proactively improve operational efficiencies
  • Background in multi-facility healthcare or multi-business unit reporting preferred
  • Familiarity with ABA and Autism services is a plus but not required
  • Data-driven decision maker with strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated sound judgment in strategic decision making, project prioritization, and resource allocation
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
  • High attention to detail and a track record of increasing responsibility
