Overview
A fast-growing, fully remote proprietary trading firm with a team of over 130 people across more than 26 countries is seeking a Senior Accountant. This is a foundational role to build and lead the in-house accounting function as the organization scales its entities, payment channels, and financial complexity.
Responsibilities
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring predictable and timely completion
- Reconcile complex, high-volume payment flows including merchant processing fees, chargebacks, refunds, Rise account activity, PayPal activity, and affiliate payouts
- Maintain the general ledger across multiple legal entities, ensuring accurate intercompany activity and eliminations
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Produce accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
- Develop and document scalable accounting processes and internal controls as the company grows
- Collaborate with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Support external accountants and auditors, serving as a key internal contact
- Evaluate, implement, and improve accounting systems and automation
- Assist in hiring, mentoring, and leading the accounting team as the function expands
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full cycle month-end close ownership
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls
- Hands-on experience reconciling high-volume transactions across multiple payment processors
- Experience with multi-entity accounting
- Advanced skills in Excel and Google Sheets
- Experience with cloud accounting or ERP systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a high degree of ownership
- Ability to operate autonomously in a fast-moving, fully remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA designation or active CPA candidate status
- Experience in fintech, payments, brokerage, trading, or broader financial services
- Exposure to digital asset or cryptocurrency accounting
- Experience building or scaling an accounting function at a high-growth company
- Familiarity with payout platforms and affiliate or partner payment models
