Senior Accountant

Overview

A third-party management firm with decades of experience in real estate is seeking a Senior Accountant to support financial reporting and process improvements. The organization manages a diverse portfolio including multifamily, single-family home rentals, affordable housing, build-to-rent, active adult, and student housing properties nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and post journal entries
• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations
• Research and resolve accounting issues
• Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for one or more regional offices, including variance analysis
• Research accounting guidance and prepare memos
• Assist in developing new processes and procedures to improve month-end close and financial reporting
• Improve coordination between property accounting and corporate accounting
• Support departmental initiatives to enhance efficiency and utilization of tools, including newly implemented ERP systems
• Analyze expenses and assist in budget preparation
• Prepare audit-related requests and perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance
• Experience in multifamily property accounting preferred
• Strong critical reasoning, quantitative, and analytical skills
• Deep understanding of financial concepts
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Proven organizational skills with strong attention to detail

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $65,000 - $95,000 USD annually
• Compensation is based on factors including skill sets, experience, training, and certifications
• The position is remote, and the salary range reflects this
