Senior Accounting Associate (Remote)

Overview

This organization offers an all-in-one accounting platform designed specifically for startups, automating bookkeeping, taxes, and tax credits for over 1,000 high-growth companies. By combining automation with expert in-house accountants experienced in startup environments, the platform helps clients maintain compliance, optimize financial runway, and focus on scaling their businesses. Clients typically receive significant cash back from the IRS annually. The company operates as a globally distributed, primarily remote team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for multiple clients.
• Record and manage payroll, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accounts payable, and related accounting activities.
• Conduct ad hoc analyses and projects as needed.
• Follow proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
• Stay informed on bookkeeping, tax filing, HR standards, and relevant regulations.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance resource efficiency and accuracy.
• Track billable hours across different clients.
• Manage and update project tracking within proprietary software.
• Maintain and organize filing systems using cloud-based tools.
• Monitor client communication channels for support needs continually.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA license preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting theory, principles, and practices.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience managing financials for multiple clients.
• Strong written communication skills for documenting accounting processes.
• Ability to manage ambiguity, solve problems creatively, and prioritize multiple deadlines.
• Skilled in data analysis and presenting financial information clearly.
• Experience with SaaS, tech, startups, high-growth, or private equity-backed companies preferred but not required.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $70,000 to $90,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and location.
