Overview
This role is for a Senior Analyst in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) supporting the COO and CFO organizations. It is a remote position open to candidates in the US or Canada. The Senior Analyst will lead financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and performance management activities, partnering with Finance leadership and cross-functional teams to influence capital allocation, resource prioritization, and strategic planning.
Responsibilities
- Lead budgeting, planning, forecasting, reporting, and financial performance management for key areas within the COO and CFO organizations.
- Develop and enhance financial models, KPI dashboards, reporting tools, and planning frameworks to improve executive visibility and support data-driven decisions.
- Utilize BI tools (such as Tableau, Power BI), Excel, and financial systems to deliver accurate, scalable reporting on operating expenses, headcount, vendor spend, investment performance, and key business drivers.
- Provide insights and recommendations on budget performance, variance analysis, forecast risks and opportunities, investment trade-offs, and cost optimization.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly executive and board-level materials, translating complex financial and operational data into clear narratives for senior leadership.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, HR, Business Operations, Procurement, and functional leaders to align headcount planning, operating cadence, investment priorities, and resource allocation.
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities, including leveraging AI tools and data automation to enhance forecast accuracy and planning efficiency.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analyses and special projects, framing business questions, building analyses, and communicating actionable recommendations to FP&A leadership and senior executives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related analytical discipline.
- 5-8 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, FP&A, corporate finance, business operations, or related analytical roles.
- Experience supporting executive leadership, particularly COO and CFO functions, is strongly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, including pivot tables, lookups, and structured financial analysis.
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI is a strong plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proven ability to lead financial planning processes, develop analytical frameworks, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and translate data into executive-level recommendations.
- Effective communication skills to explain financial concepts to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience with operating expense management, headcount planning, forecasting, variance analysis, and executive reporting is advantageous.
- Familiarity with systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce, Adaptive Planning, Tableau, or Power BI is valued.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in SaaS/technology companies or private equity portfolio company environments.
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting salary range: $120,000 - $130,000 USD/CAD per year.
- Salary within this range is determined by factors including skills, education, experience, performance, business needs, and geographic location.
