Senior Bookkeeping

Overview

This role involves serving as a Senior Bookkeeper/Accountant, independently managing client accounting and bookkeeping responsibilities, maintaining accurate financial records, and providing responsive, professional service. The position is based in Danville, California.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate client books and accounting records in QuickBooks, including general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations.
• Prepare and review trial balances, post adjusting journal entries, and support month-end and year-end accounting procedures.
• Review financial information and analyze account activity to identify discrepancies, unusual items, and opportunities for correction.
• Communicate with clients by phone, email, and in person to obtain information, answer questions, and resolve accounting matters.
• Maintain organized workpapers and supporting documentation; manage assigned responsibilities independently; meet deadlines; and learn new accounting, tax, and office software as needed.

Requirements

• Experience using QuickBooks and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Solid understanding of general ledger accounting, including account reconciliations, trial balances, and adjusting journal entries.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and time management; ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and professional client service.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to learn and effectively use new software and technology.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base annual salary range: $33.17 to $36.06, plus a competitive performance-based bonus.
• Base annual salary depends on skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location. Base annual salary may differ significantly due to geography and cost of labor considerations.
