Senior Corporate Accountant

Overview

A rapidly growing company specializing in commerce-enablement technology and high-volume fulfillment services is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their Accounting Team. This role involves full ownership of critical accounting areas, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data, and providing insightful analysis behind the numbers.

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of assigned General Ledger (GL) accounts, performing complex monthly reconciliations compliant with GAAP.
• Proactively identify and resolve discrepancies within the general ledger by investigating anomalies and collaborating across departments.
• Lead period-over-period variance analysis, providing detailed explanations and actionable insights to leadership.
• Drive timely and accurate month-end close processes, including preparation of sophisticated journal entries and maintenance of workpapers.
• Support audit readiness by preparing detailed schedules and documentation, and responding to external audit inquiries.
• Continuously evaluate and improve accounting workflows, proposing and implementing automation or process enhancements.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 3–5 years of progressive experience in Corporate Accounting or Audit roles.
• Proven ability to manage a high volume of complex reconciliations and strong understanding of Balance Sheet and Income Statement relationships.
• Proficiency in NetSuite or similar Tier-1 ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on data integrity and resolving discrepancies.
• Excellent communication skills, able to clearly explain complex accounting movements to non-finance stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active CPA license or CPA candidate status.
• Experience in Big 4 or mid-tier public accounting firms.
• Familiarity with fintech tools such as Coupa or Ramp.
• Located in the Atlanta area or within the Eastern Time Zone.
