Overview
A growing Financial Planning & Analysis team is seeking a skilled analyst to support the organization's financial reliability, scalability, and discipline. This role involves collaborating cross-functionally to optimize forecasting processes, automate workflows, and provide actionable insights to guide business decisions.
The analyst will work closely with accounting, sales, product, data science, and other teams to collect and analyze data, understand product economics, and contribute to the company's financial success.
This position offers flexible work arrangements and can be performed remotely anywhere within the United States or from the Oakland office.
Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze structured and unstructured financial and business data from sources such as Snowflake, Intacct ERP, Salesforce, and other internal systems.
- Identify and interpret trends or patterns to support business decision-making.
- Develop data collection methods, analytical tools, models, and processes.
- Build and maintain analytics reporting to provide insights into business performance and key company metrics.
- Assess and support internal stakeholders' analytical needs, applying strategic thinking to solve challenges such as customer and transaction profitability analysis.
- Translate objectives into project plans with milestones and resource requirements; manage assigned projects independently.
- Own data analysis and modeling to drive high-quality forecasting and variance analysis for various customers.
- Establish strong relationships with individual teams and cross-functional business partners.
- Prepare data for management and investor communications.
- Participate in initiatives related to system integration, data infrastructure and governance, internal controls, and process improvements.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience working with SQL and relational databases, including advanced SQL functions such as window functions and complex joins.
- Ability to work with nuanced data and ambiguity, with a willingness to explore data structures independently.
- Familiarity with Snowflake and advanced features like Snowflake Machine Learning is a plus.
- Solid understanding of financial and accounting concepts.
- Experience with Excel, ERP systems, financial planning, and business intelligence tools.
- Exposure to process automation and data pipeline design.
- Proficiency with modern IT business systems and data analytics technologies.
- Strong team player capable of building cross-functional partnerships.
- Ability to develop clear communications and key messaging for stakeholders and senior management.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation is calibrated based on work location within the United States, divided into three tiers:
- National: $100,000 - $125,000
- Premium (higher cost-of-living areas such as Los Angeles, CA and Seattle, WA): $108,800 - $136,000
- Premium Plus (highest cost-of-living areas such as San Francisco Bay Area and New York City): $117,600 - $147,000
