Overview
A growing technology company is seeking a Senior Finance and Operations Analyst to support the scaling of its finance function. Reporting to the VP of Finance and Operations, this role will be the second finance hire and will cover a broad range of responsibilities including accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), financial systems, and business operations.
Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Review and analyze general ledger activity across vendors and cost centers
- Act as the internal point of contact and quality assurance layer for outsourced accounting support
- Perform reconciliations across finance systems and resolve discrepancies
- Support journal entry review and month-end close processes
- Assist with annual recurring revenue (ARR) recognition tracking and contract-to-revenue workflows
FP&A & Long-Term Planning
- Own recurring FP&A deliverables such as monthly variance analysis, budget vs. actual reporting, and board deck preparation
- Build and maintain long-term financial models including multi-year planning, scenario modeling, and capital planning
- Support cash management activities including cash flow forecasting, runway analysis, and monitoring against covenants or facilities
- Provide analytical support for ad hoc projects such as competitive modeling, pricing analysis, and compensation plan mechanics
Business Operations & Go-To-Market (GTM) Analytics
- Collaborate closely with the Head of Revenue Operations on GTM systems, data integrity, and pipeline/bookings analytics
- Ensure alignment and clean data flow between finance and GTM systems
- Support business operations analytics and surface insights to the executive team
Systems
- Serve as a power user and administrator of finance and operations technology stack
- Identify opportunities to improve, automate, or consolidate systems and processes
- Assist in evaluating and implementing new tools as the organization’s needs evolve
Requirements
- 3 to 6 years of experience in accounting, FP&A, or financial operations, preferably in a high-growth startup or a role requiring multiple responsibilities
- Advanced Excel and spreadsheet modeling skills with experience building financial models from scratch
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- Systems fluency and a genuine interest in financial tooling
- Sharp analytical instincts with good judgment on when to escalate issues
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills
- Comfortable working in ambiguous environments and building processes from the ground up
- Strong ownership mentality with a desire to lead functions rather than just execute tasks
- Experience using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) to enhance analysis, modeling, and reporting
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a SaaS or B2B software company, especially at Series A or B stage
- Exposure to usage-based or hybrid pricing models
- Prior partnership with GTM or Revenue Operations teams
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $110,000 to $160,000 USD per year
