Overview

A public benefit organization is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join their finance team. This role involves core financial planning and analysis (FP&A) responsibilities including budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting. The analyst will collaborate closely with senior leaders across the business to improve forecast accuracy, provide strategic insights, and support data-driven decision-making as the organization scales. This is a fully remote position reporting to the Senior Finance Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Manage department spending across technology, marketing, and operating expenses to support senior leadership with data-driven analysis and strategic insights
  • Build, maintain, and enhance financial models covering all financial statements to support company financial goals
  • Support quarterly forecast updates and external financial reporting to investors
  • Partner with the People team to align hiring plans with company goals and ensure headcount spend is accurately reflected in forecasts
  • Independently manage monthly and quarterly commission calculations, ensuring accuracy and cross-functional alignment on KPIs
  • Analyze vendor spend and assist with contract renewals to improve spend visibility and resource efficiency
  • Support accounts receivable reconciliation, claims analysis, and issue resolution to improve cash flow forecasting, collections rate, and revenue accuracy
  • Manage partnership payments in collaboration with the Partnerships team
  • Investigate forecast variances and financial trends to identify root causes and proactively surface risks and opportunities to leadership

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in corporate finance, accounting, or consulting with strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, and financial modeling
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field
  • Advanced financial modeling skills with strong spreadsheet proficiency
  • Experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems
  • Analytical problem-solver capable of translating business questions into actionable models and insights
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
  • Strong ownership mentality with a focus on driving results for the business and finance function
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in an early-stage startup environment with competing priorities and minimal bureaucracy
  • Passion for supporting individuals with complex chronic needs such as homelessness, severe mental illness, and substance use disorder
