Overview
This role is for a senior analyst who will serve as an embedded finance partner, owning a functional area end to end and partnering closely with business leaders.
You will be the first finance resource business leaders turn to—understanding the operating model, building and owning the models that drive headcount and spend decisions, and running a recurring monthly planning and review rhythm.
You will be assigned to one area based on strengths and business need, such as support, G&A, or go-to-market.
Responsibilities
- Own the operating and capacity model for your assigned area, including how headcount and spend scale with business drivers.
- Manage forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning for assigned functions, including the narrative explaining variances.
- Conduct monthly business reviews with functional leaders: what happened, why, and what it means for the rest of the year.
- Perform vendor and operating expense reviews, identifying where leverage exists and where it does not.
- Provide decision support between formal planning cycles, including business cases and scenario work.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Requirements
- Approximately 2 to 5 years in FP&A, business finance, consulting, banking, or a comparable analytical role (years are flexible if substance is demonstrated).
- Strong financial modeling skills and analytical judgment to validate whether conclusions are correct.
- Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with functional leaders.
- Evidence of owning ambiguous problems and driving them forward without close management.
- A working style that emphasizes automation of repeatable tasks.
- Familiarity with AI tools, BI tools, SQL, or planning systems is a plus (support is available to build these skills if you have the instinct but haven’t used the tools).
- Meaningful overlap with Pacific time (team sits on the West Coast).
- Open to occasional travel for team and company onsite visits.
