Overview
This role is for a Senior Analyst to serve as an embedded finance partner for a functional area end to end. You will partner directly with business leaders, understand their operating model, build and own the models that drive headcount and spend decisions, and run a recurring monthly business rhythm.
The functional area you support will be determined based on strengths and business needs (potential areas include Support, G&A, or go-to-market). Prior experience in a specific function is not required—success depends on the ability to learn how the business operates and produce analysis that leaders can act on.
Responsibilities
- Own the operating and capacity model for your assigned area, including how headcount and spend scale with business drivers.
- Manage forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning for supported functions, including variance narratives.
- Lead monthly business reviews with functional leaders, covering what happened, why, and implications for the remainder of the year.
- Conduct vendor and operating expense reviews, identifying where leverage exists and where it does not.
- Provide decision support throughout the quarter, including business cases, scenario analysis, and ad-hoc analytical requests.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Requirements
- Approximately 2 to 5 years in FP&A, business finance, consulting, banking, or a comparable analytical role; years are flexible if the substance is there.
- Strong financial modeling skills and analytical judgment to identify when answers are incorrect.
- Ability to communicate effectively with functional leaders and hold your own in executive-level conversations.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of ambiguous work without being closely managed.
- A working style that emphasizes automating repeatable parts of the job.
- Familiarity with AI tools, BI tools, SQL, or planning systems is a plus (support will be provided to build tools if you have the instinct but not the specific experience).
- Team is on the West Coast; meaningful overlap with Pacific time is required.
- Open to occasional travel for team and company onsite visits.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building or improving finance automation using AI/BI/SQL/planning systems.
