Responsibilities

  • Support the Business Operations Finance Director with budgeting, forecasting, and reconciling actuals versus budget; develop and improve internal tracking and external reporting processes.

  • Lead the financial evaluation and recommendation process for CAA’s California EPR program reimbursement applications.
  • Assist in preparing reports for state agencies and other stakeholders, ensuring accurate and timely submission of required financial data; develop accompanying narratives on program costs, funding utilization, and financial sustainability.
  • Design and refine internal financial policies and procedures to support consistent, transparent, accountable, and high-performing operations.
  • Serve as a finance partner and first point of contact for state program operations, including participation in ad hoc projects related to day-to-day operations; provide financial guidance and frameworks, interpret financial data, and educate cross-functional partners on proper cost accounting.
  • Support compliance with state-specific EPR regulations related to financial reporting, fee collection, and producer obligations.
  • Support funding negotiations and contracting processes for state-specific EPR programs, ensuring financial transparency and proper resource allocation.
  • Prepare high-quality presentations, reports, and briefings for senior leadership, including Board and Committee meetings.
