Overview
This role is part of the Revenue Accounting team, responsible for how revenue is recognized, reported, and controlled for the Connected Operations Platform.
As the Revenue Accounting Manager, you will lead contract review that translates complex, non-standard customer agreements into defensible ASC 606 conclusions. You will also ensure deliverables are accurate, automated, and audit-ready. This is a high-visibility position at the intersection of Accounting, Sales, Legal, and Deal Desk—shaping deals before they are signed and supporting accounting afterward.
Responsibilities
- Own the contract review process end-to-end:
- Lead evaluation of non-standard and complex customer contracts
- Determine the appropriate ASC 606 treatment
- Document technical accounting positions in audit-supportable memos
- Drive automation and enhance processes and controls:
- Lead improvements to revenue systems, close activities, and control design
- Deliver changes from business case through go-live to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy and timeliness
- Partner across teams during negotiations:
- Work with Sales, Legal, and Deal Desk to structure deals
- Advise on terms impacting revenue timing, classification, and presentation prior to agreement signature
- Own the revenue control environment and external audit relationship:
- Design, rationalize, and optimize SOX controls as the business evolves
- Set the standard for audit-ready evidence
- Guide technical conclusions with internal and external auditors
- Set precedent on complex revenue issues:
- Apply in-depth evaluation to issues involving variable factors (including material right options, variable consideration, and contract modifications)
- Determine methods and procedures where precedent does not yet exist
- Build AI-enabled routines across revenue workstreams:
- Contract review triage, memo drafting, reconciliation and anomaly detection, and audit-support preparation
- Establish guardrails for quality, privacy, and where human accounting judgment must remain explicit
- Lead and embed team standards:
- Champion and role model core cultural principles while scaling globally and across new offices
- Hire, develop, and lead an inclusive, engaged, high-performing team
