Overview
A leading defense technology organization is seeking a Senior Specialist, Finance - Balance Sheet Analyst to join their Missile Solutions Segment. This role focuses on driving business results through program working capital improvements, program cash management, and accurate monthly financial statement preparation. The position offers a hybrid work option with locations in Melbourne, FL or remote, operating on a 9/80 schedule (9 days worked every 14 days with every other Friday off).
Responsibilities
- Analyze balance sheet movements, cash, and investment account reconciliations
- Develop and maintain program working capital forecasts
- Investigate cash and liquidity variances and collaborate with stakeholders to identify corrective actions, risks, or opportunities
- Prepare monthly financial statements and upload them into Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)
- Support monthly and quarterly financial reviews including Monthly Financial Review, Quarterly Operational Review, Annual Operating Plan, and Joint Strategic Plan
- Develop tools, templates, and processes to streamline data capture and reporting while ensuring relevant detail
- Perform ad hoc financial analyses as required
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
- Travel domestically up to 10%
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or
- Graduate degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience without a degree
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or graduate degree in finance, accounting, or economics
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, financial modeling)
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle
- Strong skills in variance analysis, account reconciliation, and GAAP principles
- Experience managing multiple tasks and working independently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Strong knowledge of balance sheet and income statement concepts
- Experience in the aerospace and defense industry
- Experience with Hyperion, Oracle, Cost Point, and Peoplesoft systems
- Flexibility to assume additional responsibilities as needed
- CPA or CMA certification is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range varies by location:
- California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, Greater D.C. area, Denver, NYC: $88,000 - $164,000
- Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, Vermont, Virginia: $76,500 - $141,500
- Final salary offer depends on experience and geographic location
