Responsibilities
- Prepare and review S corporation and individual tax returns ensuring full California compliance
- Audit client books to ensure accuracy and readiness for tax filing
- Oversee general ledger management and month-end/year-end close processes
- Maintain quality control over financial transactions and reporting
- Manage local, state, and federal tax filing requirements
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of California tax laws and regulations
- Proven experience preparing S corporation and individual tax returns in a public accounting environment
- Background working at a mid-size public accounting firm
- Comfortable auditing financial records and preparing them for tax filing
- Proficiency with accounting software, preferably QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel
- Tech-forward mindset with comfort using modern tools and automation, including AI
- Solid fundamentals in accounting and tax practices
