Overview

The organization is seeking a Mid-Level Trading Operations Analyst to oversee day-to-day trade workflows, support operational process improvements, and serve as an escalation point for complex trading transactions. This role bridges core trade execution and operational strategy execution as part of scaling a tech-enabled advisory model.

Responsibilities

  • Trade Operations & Strategy Execution
    • Execute and monitor daily trading operations
    • Apply model adjustments, tax-loss harvesting, and firm-wide rebalancing
  • Process Improvement & Workflow Optimization
    • Assist in designing, testing, and implementing new operational processes and software enhancements to improve efficiency
  • Escalation & Complex Resolution
    • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex trading-related issues
    • Handle account reconciliations, cost basis adjustments, and advanced money movement requests
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with financial planners, custodians, and internal technology teams to support product rollouts and trade workflow integrations
  • Documentation & Peer Support
    • Maintain procedural documentation
    • Assist in onboarding new specialists
    • Provide guidance to operational team members
  • Special Projects
    • Lead targeted operational projects across the trading and investment operations organization

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in trading operations, portfolio accounting, or financial services operations
  • Demonstrated experience using:
    • Trade rebalancing software
    • Order Management Systems
    • Various custodian platforms
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Trading operations
    • Securities regulations
    • Cost basis and tax forms
    • IRA transaction rules
  • Advanced analytical skills with strong proficiency in Excel and financial management tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills to handle complex cross-departmental queries and member escalations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with trading and allocating separately managed accounts (SMA) and/or unified managed accounts (UMAs)
  • Extensive knowledge and experience working with portfolio rebalancing software such as Orion Eclipse, Envestnet, or Addepar
  • Experience with sleeved trading practices, including oversight and reconciliation of multiple sleeves within a portfolio
  • Deep understanding of direct indexing strategies, tax-loss harvesting, and large-scale ETF trading across multiple custodians

Compensation & Benefits

  • $85,000 – $115,000 base salary (determined by experience, knowledge, and skills)
