Overview
A leading global manufacturer of agricultural fertilizers is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their financial operations team. The organization operates multiple manufacturing complexes across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, with extensive logistics and distribution networks. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in preparing consolidated financial statements, management reports, and accounting disclosures, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and supporting financial integrity.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly journal entries, consolidations, and month-end analyses for accurate financial reporting.
- Develop and prepare exhibits, commentary, management reports, and disclosures for directors and regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate typing, proofreading, issuance, and filing of financial reports to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Analyze account balances, prepare supporting documentation, and maintain organized files for audits and reviews.
- Support accounting for international investments under the equity method, including operating results and purchase accounting adjustments.
- Assist with accounting for limited partnerships, including journal entries, monthly analysis, and special projects.
- Prepare summaries of sales activity, analyze selling prices, and monitor sales trends to inform management decisions.
- Present financial analyses, updates, and recommendations to department teams and senior management.
- Participate in special projects, year-end closing activities, and process improvements to enhance accounting procedures and systems.
- Reconcile and analyze intercompany transactions to ensure consistency and accuracy across entities.
- Evaluate current accounting practices and recommend improvements to optimize efficiency and compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of relevant accounting experience.
- CPA designation preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with SAP accounting systems preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately and work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Adaptable, proactive, and capable of working independently while contributing to team objectives.
