Overview

This role is responsible for leading global income tax reporting and compliance across jurisdictions, ensuring the integrity of the global tax provision, external reporting, and audit-ready documentation. You will modernize tax operations through standardized processes, trusted data, and automation, and advise senior Finance and business leaders on reporting, cash-tax, and risk implications of transactions and regulatory changes.

Responsibilities

  • Own the quarterly and annual worldwide income tax provision under ASC 740, including current and deferred tax, effective tax rate analysis, valuation allowances, uncertain tax positions, return-to-provision adjustments, and tax-related disclosures.
  • Ensure external financial statements, regulatory filings, management reporting, and local statutory accounts are accurate, timely, and audit-ready.
  • Lead effective tax rate, taxable income, cash-tax, and balance-sheet forecasting in partnership with FP&A, Controllership, and Treasury.
  • Own the global tax compliance calendar and governance framework across U.S. federal, state, local, and international jurisdictions, ensuring complete, accurate, and timely filings and payments.
  • Direct the outsourced and co-sourced compliance model, including scope, service levels, quality review, issue escalation, fee management, and accountability for deliverables.
  • Oversee corporate income tax and related reporting obligations, including extensions, estimates, information returns, country-by-country reporting, and relevant indirect-tax processes.
  • Lead readiness for OECD BEPS and Pillar Two requirements, including governance over GloBE data, calculations, safe-harbour assessments, tax accounting impacts, and filing obligations where applicable.
  • Maintain consistency among tax returns, legal-entity books, transfer pricing policies, intercompany activity, and the consolidated tax provision.
  • Oversee tax audits, notices, and information requests in partnership with specialist teams and external advisors, ensuring positions are documented and defensible.
  • Own the tax control framework, including SOX controls, process documentation, evidence standards, and issue remediation using a risk-based approach with clear escalation protocols and materiality thresholds.
  • Advise senior Finance leadership and external auditors on tax impacts of acquisitions, dispositions, integrations, restructurings, financing, new markets, and changes in law.
  • Drive the tax technology roadmap, emphasizing AI-driven automation and predictive analytics; integrate ERP, consolidation, provision, and compliance systems; standardize, simplify, and automate end-to-end tax processes to shorten close cycles, optimize data quality, and reduce manual effort.
  • Lead responsible AI governance and deployment of advanced AI/ML capabilities across Tax & Treasury, including AI tools for predictive tax forecasting, automated scenario planning, and enhanced risk management with rigorous validation, data security, and human oversight.
  • Monitor tax and financial-reporting developments and translate them into timely decisions, implementation plans, controls, and stakeholder communications.
  • Build, develop, and retain a globally connected team with clear roles, succession plans, and measurable performance expectations; partner with Controllership, FP&A, Treasury, Legal, Internal Audit, IT, and regional finance and business leaders to embed tax considerations in decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required.
  • Prior experience in ASC 740 and global tax reporting is mandatory for this specific role.
  • Typically 15+ years of progressive corporate tax experience, including significant leadership of global tax accounting, reporting, and compliance in a complex multinational environment; public-company experience strongly preferred.
  • Deep command of ASC 740 and U.S. GAAP, including uncertain tax positions, valuation allowances, business combinations, tax disclosures, and effective tax rate analysis; working knowledge of local statutory reporting and IFRS is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated oversight of U.S. federal, state, local, and international income tax compliance, with practical familiarity with cross-border reporting, country-by-country reporting, BEPS, and Pillar Two.
  • Strong record designing and operating SOX-compliant tax controls, managing external audits, and maintaining defensible, audit-ready documentation.
  • Hands-on, daily user of AI tools such as Gemini, Claude or ChatGPT, with concrete examples of work you have automated or redesigned with them.
  • Experience building your own AI workflows or agents (e.g., Claude Code or Codex) to automate recurring work such as monitoring tax law changes across countries, or tax provision calculations is a strong plus.
  • Proven success leading geographically dispersed teams and complex advisor relationships through influence, clear accountability, and disciplined execution.
  • Executive presence and exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex tax matters into concise business implications and recommendations.
