Staff Accountant - Essentials

Overview

This is a fully remote Staff Accountant role with a growing CPA firm specializing in financial planning services for a national clientele.

The position supports monthly accounting operations, including bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and preparation of financial statements. Work supports the accuracy and completeness of client financial records and helps maintain financial integrity for planning teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements, including bank and credit card reconciliations
• Assess general ledger accuracy and prepare journal entries
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts with supporting documentation
• Prepare after-the-fact payroll summaries and related journal entries
• Ensure compliance with regulations for year-end Forms 1096 and 1099
• Independently work with clients to facilitate financial statement completion
• Manage multiple client accounts and organize supporting documentation
• Meet departmental production goals and support timely financial reporting

Requirements

• 2–5 years of accounting experience
• Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution preferred
• Experience with multi-client CPA firms preferred
• Proficiency with QuickBooks software preferred
• Skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Demonstrate teamwork and a positive attitude

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay range: $65,000.00 – $78,000.00 USD
