Staff Accountant

Overview

The organization is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join the accounting team. This role supports a range of accounting functions—including journal entries, expense reporting, account analysis and reconciliations, and AR/AP—to help ensure efficient day-to-day operations and adherence to GAAP, month-end close requirements, and internal policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries as part of the monthly close process
• Perform and analyze account reconciliations and investigate variances
• Prepare monthly sales and use tax filings
• Review employee expense reports for compliance with company policies
• Reconcile and administer company credit card accounts
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and record depreciation
• Analyze general ledger activity and resolve discrepancies
• Support accounts payable processes and vendor statement reconciliations, including maintaining relationships with vendors
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, and accruals
• Respond to employee and vendor inquiries in a timely, professional, and solution-oriented manner
• Provide support to the Accounting Manager and Controller as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 2+ years of professional accounting experience
• Advanced proficiency in Excel
• Strong written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong time management abilities

• Experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) is a plus
• Familiarity with the retail or fashion industry is an advantage

Compensation & Benefits

• $73,000 - $77,000 per year
