Overview
This role involves leading advanced analytics for global Payments operations within a large, international platform. The position focuses on driving strategic vision execution, enabling data-informed decision-making, and enhancing operational excellence across Payments Platform, Product, and Operations teams. The successful candidate will collaborate with engineers, finance partners, and cross-functional stakeholders to optimize payment processing systems and improve the experience for global users.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a key data thought partner to leadership, delivering actionable insights and recommendations.
- Manage day-to-day analytics and architect scalable reporting platforms to improve the payments ecosystem.
- Identify and resolve frictions in user journeys to optimize experiences for guests, hosts, and agents.
- Apply advanced quantitative methods, machine learning models, AI, and experimentation to solve complex challenges.
- Develop analytical frameworks and statistical models to establish causal inference and drive measurable business impact.
- Translate experimental results into compelling narratives for executive stakeholders.
- Influence executive-level roadmaps by defining key metrics and providing data-backed strategic recommendations.
- Utilize sophisticated data infrastructure and machine learning tools to expand organizational measurement capabilities.
- Collaborate with engineers and product managers on the technical details of fund processing, including collection, reconciliation, and settlement.
- Drive strategic Payments roadmaps and user journey optimizations through data insights and cross-functional collaboration.
- Deliver business reviews, executive scorecards, and strategic OKR planning to empower decision-making.
- Design and execute rigorous experimentation frameworks using advanced statistical modeling and causal inference.
- Construct data models to size product offerings and prioritize initiatives.
- Partner with platform teams to maintain a resilient payments infrastructure.
- Analyze payment processing trends and collaborate with stakeholders to implement business changes.
- Monitor global fintech trends and regulatory shifts to identify innovation opportunities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10+ years of industry experience in business analytics.
- Degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or Operations Research; Masters or PhD preferred.
- Proven experience working in Payments organizations with deep technical proficiency in payment processing, risk, and compliance.
- Expert-level skills in SQL and proficiency in at least one programming language for data analysis (Python or R).
- Strong storytelling and communication skills to influence stakeholders.
- Experience using AI tools to scale workflows and identify new opportunities.
- Familiarity with non-experimental causal inference methods, experimentation, and machine learning techniques, ideally in multi-sided platform settings.
- Working knowledge of schema design and high-dimensional data modeling, including ETL frameworks such as Airflow.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay range: $180,000—$221,000 USD.
- Eligibility for bonus, equity, benefits, and employee travel credits.
- Actual compensation depends on training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands.
Location
- This position is US - Remote Eligible.
- Occasional work at an office or attendance at offsites may be required as agreed with management.
