Overview

A rapidly growing AI-driven tax technology company is seeking a US Tax Lawyer or CPA with experience in US federal tax to join their team as a Tax Insights Associate. This role involves researching, drafting, and refining practitioner-facing articles covering a broad range of US tax law topics. The position is primarily remote with occasional in-person meetings in Toronto and rare travel for conferences. Candidates based anywhere in the United States are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct tax research and write multiple practitioner-facing US tax articles weekly, covering areas such as corporate tax, individual tax, deductions, credits, S corporations, partnerships, trusts, exempt organizations, and more.
  • Evaluate sources for accuracy and currency, analyze source documents to support analysis, and assess the quality and accuracy of AI-generated tax content.
  • Perform technical review of articles produced by other contributors to ensure accuracy, currency, and alignment with content standards.
  • Apply understanding of tax firm workflows to help align the product with real-world use cases.
  • Collaborate with tax professionals, analysts, and data scientists to develop and improve AI tools.
  • Contribute strategic thinking to influence the development of the content function, focusing on quality, coverage, and continuous improvement.
  • Adapt based on customer feedback to consistently add value and improve the product.

Requirements

  • JD or CPA designation.
  • 3–7 years of professional experience in US federal tax, gained at a firm, in-house, government, or in a tax-focused research or content role.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to clearly explain complex tax concepts to a practitioner audience.
  • Comfort using AI tools as part of daily workflow and enthusiasm for integrating AI into tax work.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Intellectual curiosity and genuine interest in how technology can improve the tax profession.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with AI tools or in technology-enhanced environments is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams including tax professionals and data scientists.
