Tax Manager

Overview

Tax Managers are part of the business tax team, responsible for managing client relationships while ensuring final annual tax products and monthly financial work are produced and delivered to clients within expected timelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare payroll, tax, and business records and reports
• Prepare corporate and individual tax returns
• Build new and strengthen existing client relationships by demonstrating basic knowledge of clients’ businesses
• Communicate with clients and meet with them as requested, providing recommendations to support clients’ financial or tax needs

Requirements

• 3+ years in a similar role within a public accounting firm
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting highly desired or equivalent work experience
• CPA certification highly desired or ability to attain

Schedule

• Tax season: up to 50–60 hours per week
• Remainder of the year: 30–40 hours per week
• Typically Monday–Friday with 8a–5p scheduling, with flexibility around personal and family time
• Part time and seasonal team members are welcome

Location

Work arrangements may be onsite, hybrid, or remote. The employer has 19 office locations, including 13 in Wisconsin (Black Earth, Door Country, Fort Atkinson, Mauston, Marshfield, Portage, Reedsburg, Sauk City, Sun Prairie, Tomah, Wausau, Wisconsin Dells-Lake Delton) and corporate headquarters in Baraboo, plus offices in Phoenix, Goodyear, and Chandler, Arizona; in Scottsbluff and Kimball, Nebraska; and in Durango, Colorado.
