Tax Specialist - ProConnect

Overview

A well-established accounting firm founded in 1994 is seeking a Tax Specialist with strong experience in Intuit ProConnect Tax Online. The firm provides tax, write-up, payroll, and other accounting services to business owners primarily in the Coastal Bend region and beyond. The organization has recently focused on modernizing infrastructure and strengthening systems to build a sustainable and scalable practice.

This role is initially a short-term or seasonal engagement to support tax season and related projects, with potential to grow into a longer-term or full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare various tax returns using ProConnect, including 1040, 1041, 1120S, 1065, 1120, 990, and state filings
• Review source documents to identify missing or incomplete information
• Communicate clearly with internal team members regarding return status and questions
• Assist in clearing review notes and resolving open items
• Support e-file processing and finalization procedures
• Help improve ProConnect workflows, templates, and standardized processes
• Assist with cleanup or extension projects as needed

Requirements

• Demonstrated proficiency in Intuit ProConnect Tax Online (required)
• Experience preparing individual and business tax returns
• Strong understanding of tax forms, schedules, and supporting documentation
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to meet deadlines within a structured workflow environment
• Clear and professional communication skills
• CPA, EA, or tax-focused accounting background preferred
