Overview
The Senior Tax Systems Analyst reports to the Director of Indirect Tax and is responsible for managing the Indirect Tax department’s collection of services, libraries, and front-end software that support various sales tax processes, including tax determination and exemption. This role involves collaborating with the Indirect Tax team to develop new internal processes, investigate taxability handling, implement configuration changes within third-party sales tax software, and lead data and reporting projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and improve internal workflows related to sales tax processes
- Analyze tax data, identify areas for improvement, and investigate production issues
- Communicate findings and solutions with stakeholders
- Provide mentorship and guidance to internal and external users on tax determination and exemption
- Research, develop, and document processes, procedures, and solutions related to third-party sales tax software and configurations
- Oversee all reporting and data-related projects
- Create ad-hoc reports using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and PowerBI to support problem investigation and business functions
- Collaborate with Business Intelligence teams to build dashboards and reports supporting internal processes
Physical Requirements
- Work performed while sitting or standing and using a personal computer
- Effective communication using speech, vision, and hearing
- Regular use of hands for grasping and fine manipulations
- Occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights up to 50 lbs
Remote Work Qualifications
- Reliable and secure high-speed internet connection (preferably cable or fiber with at least 75 Mbps download/10 Mbps upload)
- Access to a home router and modem
- Dedicated home office space that is noise- and distraction-free with strong wireless or wired Ethernet connection (wired preferred)
- Valid physical address (PO Boxes not supported) for receiving equipment
- Ability and willingness to communicate with team members via chat, webcam, etc.

Experience
- Minimum 4 years of experience in indirect tax, systems and/or data analysis, or an equivalent role
Education
- No degree required; relevant skills and experience are prioritized
