Unapplied Cash Analyst

Overview

This role is responsible for all cash application functions within the finance department, including reviewing and reconciling unapplied cash. The position also supports general operational areas and provides administrative and organizational support.

Responsibilities

• Review and reconcile unapplied cash
• Work closely with sites to confirm visit activity
• Enter charges into the clinical trial management system (CTMS) if/when needed
• Apply receivables to the Cash Receipts Log for all lines of business
• Post transactional cash line items into proprietary systems based on remittance detail provided by pharmaceutical companies
• Ensure accuracy of cash postings by contacting pharmaceutical companies to verify payment remittance details
• Review, interpret, and discuss remittances from payers to confirm data accuracy

Requirements

• High School Diploma obtained; Associate's Degree highly preferred
• 1+ year work experience with basic financial operations including: debits/credits, reconciliation, invoice structures, and payment lifecycles
• Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills
• Understanding of how payments flow, how to match payments to invoices, and how unapplied cash affects financials
• Ability to investigate discrepancies, interpret remittances, and resolve unidentified cash
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and clear communication skills
