Overview

This is a hands-on executive role owning group-level corporate accounting, including technical U.S. GAAP positions, multi-entity consolidation and eliminations, intercompany accounting, external audit management, accounting policy and internal controls, and shared financial infrastructure.

The VP of Corporate Accounting reports directly to the CFO and leads the corporate accounting branch in partnership with the operational accounting team, which owns entity-level books and month-end close.

A key timing component: the organization is migrating to a new ERP accounting platform with a target launch of January 1, 2027. This role will help drive onboarding and design consolidation and intercompany processes on the new platform from the start.

Responsibilities

  • Own the multi-entity consolidation process:
    • Set methodology and calendar
    • Review and approve consolidated financials, eliminations, and workpapers produced by the Technical Accounting Manager
  • Design and run the intercompany accounting framework:
    • Develop intercompany agreements and charge structures
    • Ensure recurring intercompany entries, reconciliation, and settlement discipline across the entity group
    • Coordinate with external tax and legal advisors
  • Own technical GAAP positions across the group (including revenue recognition, accruals, leases, equity, and business combinations) and review/approve GAAP memos prepared by the Technical Accounting Manager
  • Manage the external audit end-to-end as the auditors’ primary counterpart:
    • Scoping
    • PBC production
    • Technical issue resolution
    • Timeline ownership
  • Serve as the finance lead for lender, investor, and transaction-related accounting workstreams, including quality-of-earnings and diligence support
  • Build and maintain the group’s accounting policy manual and internal control framework, and drive adoption across the accounting organization
  • Own shared financial infrastructure, including:
    • Chart of accounts governance
    • Entity structure hygiene
    • Leading coordination for onboarding and implementation of the new ERP accounting platform (target launch January 1, 2027)
  • Partner with the operational accounting team so group-level standards and technical positions translate into clean, repeatable entity-level entries
  • Act as the day-to-day liaison to the external tax firm:
    • Direct work across entity and ownership returns
    • Get ahead of state sales tax and multi-state compliance
    • Recommend how the in-house tax function should be structured and when to hire it
  • Oversee cash management practices until dedicated treasury leadership is hired into your branch
  • Act as the CFO’s senior delegate on accounting matters, resolving operational accounting escalations so executive attention remains focused on planning and growth

First-Year Goals

  • Complete the group’s external financial audit in 2027 with the already-engaged audit firm, managing the relationship end to end
  • Document the intercompany framework, align with external advisors, and ensure clean monthly settlement
  • Produce consolidated monthly financials on a repeatable calendar, with eliminations and workpapers audit-ready
  • Draft and adopt an accounting policy manual covering the group’s core areas
  • Ensure the new ERP accounting platform is live and stable, with consolidation and intercompany processes built on it from day one
  • Define a corporate accounting branch roadmap, including a recommendation on the structure and level of in-house tax and treasury ownership

Qualifications

  • CPA required
  • 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior ownership of a multi-entity consolidation as a VP of Accounting, Corporate Controller, or Chief Accounting Officer
  • Public accounting foundation, preferably national or Big Four, followed by senior in-house leadership at a rapidly growing private company
  • Deep, current U.S. GAAP expertise and a record of managing external audits as the company-side lead
  • Hands-on experience designing intercompany structures and working with external tax and legal advisors on cross-entity arrangements
  • Experience building teams, standards, and processes in a rapidly scaling environment
  • Expert in consolidation and intercompany mechanics, able to supervise and review at a detailed level and step into workpapers directly when needed
  • ERP implementation or migration experience strongly preferred; healthcare, pharmacy, or DTC subscription exposure is a plus
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship is required

Compensation & Benefits

  • $200,000–$235,000 base salary (range set based on experience and qualifications)
  • Profit share opportunity; awards vary with individual performance and the group’s profitability
  • Fully remote (US) with flexible working hours; occasional travel for leadership and audit meetings
  • Medical coverage and paid time off (accrued in your first year, flexible thereafter)
  • 401(k) in rollout with a January 1, 2027 target launch
