Workday Financial Analyst

Overview

A client is seeking a Financial Systems Analyst with expertise in Workday Financial Management to support insurance financial processes and system enhancements. This role involves acting as a liaison between Finance, Operations, Compliance, QA, and Technology teams to ensure system solutions meet business needs, regulatory requirements, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage business and system requirements
• Provide functional support for Workday Financials
• Apply insurance financial domain expertise
• Conduct quality assurance and testing, including test case creation, execution, and defect management
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with stakeholders across departments
• Maintain documentation, controls, and ensure audit readiness
• Support insurance financial processes such as general ledger, accounts payable, expense management, allocations, and reporting
• Contribute to system enhancements and integrations

Required Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience, including at least 1 year of hands-on experience with Workday Financial Management
• Experience working in insurance or financial services environments
• Proven experience in quality assurance testing (test case creation, execution, defect management)
• Strong understanding of financial systems, accounting processes, and controls
• Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall delivery models
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills
• Familiarity with traceability matrix, functional specifications/user stories, and loss expense tracking

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with system integrations and data flows (e.g., financial feeds)
• Familiarity with audit or regulatory compliance requirements
• Experience supporting Workday releases and regression testing cycles
