Associate Project Accountant

Overview

This position is remote.

The Associate Project Accountant provides day-to-day accounting support to Project Accountants and Project Teams on specific projects within the Major Projects group. The role assists with billing preparation, expense review, and general project accounting tasks in alignment with company policies, procedures, key objectives, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Accountants with daily accounting support to project teams.
• Prepare project billings and supporting back-up documentation.
• Review project expenses for accuracy.
• Track subcontractor lien waivers for assigned projects.
• Coordinate with Accounts Payable to set up new subcontracts and collect vendor information.
• Support field payroll and labor tracking reporting.
• Perform other basic accounting support duties as assigned.
• Make attentive, safety-focused decisions to ensure the safety and health of self and others.
• Utilize LEAN concepts or other continuous improvement methodologies to help ensure efficient operations, processes, and activities.
• Promote and model ethical business practices, including supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and providing high-quality services for clients, subcontractors, co-workers, suppliers, and the public.

Requirements (Minimum Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
• Prior accounting experience (valuable); entry-level candidates are welcome.
• Working knowledge of accounting and financial principles and practices.
• Good communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong desire to learn and grow professionally.
