Overview
A remote-based Collection Account Specialist role is available to support high-value clients by ensuring billing and collections activities are executed promptly and accurately. This position involves maintaining client satisfaction by addressing client needs through collaboration with internal and external partners to resolve assigned transactions. Handling sensitive financial data is required, and a credit review is part of the background screening process.
Responsibilities
- Collect past-due accounts across multiple lines of business.
- Correct billing errors while maintaining client account integrity in applicable systems.
- Perform account cleansing tasks including payment application and reconciliation, purchase order and cost center updates, billing consolidations, invoice corrections, inventory updates, and price quote generation.
- Collaborate with agents responsible for invoicing, account maintenance, collections, sales support, and respond to client inquiries or requests.
- Maintain good working relationships across business units.
- Organize and manage daily tasks to meet time parameters.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of client service experience.
- Preferred experience in collections, account management, and/or billing reconciliation.
- Proven time management skills.
- Excellent professional written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and schedule daily activities while functioning in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills; experience with Microsoft Office Suite is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Attention to detail with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Appropriate work-from-home environment suitable for a client-facing role.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US; no visa sponsorship available now or in the future (e.g., H-1B).
- Candidates must reside in the Eastern or Central Time Zones; applicants from Pacific and Mountain Time Zones are not eligible.
Compensation & Schedule
- Hourly wage: $18 per hour.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM EST / 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM CST. Specific hours within this range may vary or change as needed.
Location
