Overview
This role is for a Credit Analyst at a Florida Benefit Corporation and FDIC-insured commercial bank focused on sustainability and ethical banking. The organization offers a full range of personal and business banking services including solar, residential, commercial, ESOP banking, structured finance, and SBA loans. It operates branches in St. Petersburg, Winter Park, Mount Dora, and maintains a growing digital presence.
Responsibilities
- Analyze personal and business financials for potential and existing loan customers.
- Evaluate financial documents, reports, and scenarios with strong logic and attention to detail.
- Apply mathematical and analytical skills to support lending recommendations.
- Prepare comprehensive loan approval packages summarizing credit analysis and recommendations.
- Identify policy exceptions and ensure documentation accuracy and completeness.
- Present recommendations to senior management and credit committees professionally.
- Monitor existing loan portfolio performance and assist in due diligence for audits and exams.
- Manage customer, employee, and management interactions effectively.
- Maintain loan-related databases accurately.
- Use Microsoft Excel and Power BI to create, update, and analyze loan reports.
- Complete assignments with limited oversight, exercising sound judgment on escalation.
- Commit to environmental, social, economic, and racial justice principles.
- Stay informed of regulatory requirements and complete mandatory compliance and IT training.
- Understand and adhere to established policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Identify and report suspicious activity, collaborating to prevent fraud.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance.
- Prior banking experience preferred.
- Experience analyzing financial documents and reports.
- Strong written communication skills and ability to interact effectively with customers, employees, and management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required; Microsoft Power BI skills preferred.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with ownership of work product, attention to detail, resourcefulness, and ability to work independently.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, able to adapt to changing routines.
- Strong communication skills with confidence and professionalism.
- Understanding of banking, credit analysis, loan documentation, and portfolio monitoring or eagerness to develop expertise.
- Tech-savvy with ability to learn and leverage tools for efficiency.
- Team player attitude, dependable, and positive.
