Controller

Overview

The organization is seeking a Controller to join its growing Financial Operations practice. This role serves as a strategic business partner, supporting clients with interim and project-based accounting needs.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with clients to provide senior financial management and accounting services while delivering high professionalism and client service
• Partner with a range of stakeholders, including CFOs, CEOs, executive teams, bankers, private equity firms, legal advisors, tax advisors, and investors
• Support companies in executing growth strategies, taking on new initiatives, and implementing processes and improvements

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a minimum of 3 (most recent) years as a Controller
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Willingness to travel throughout your local market, while occasionally supporting national markets
• Strong interest in consulting-style work and delivering excellent customer service
• Experience leading and managing operations of an accounting department
• Proven track record developing and optimizing accounting and finance functions to support growth and scalability
• Interpersonal skills to develop effective interdepartmental relationships; IT and HR oversight is a plus
• Proficient understanding of budgeting and forecasting with complex, dynamic financial models
• Experience maintaining and/or implementing effective internal controls

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or MBA
• Prior employment by a Big Four or other nationally recognized accounting firms
• Industry experience in emerging growth, technology, and SaaS companies

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive salary: $120,000 – $210,000

Location

Clients are based in Austin, Houston, Dallas, Denver, Boston, and Atlanta. Services may be delivered onsite at the client’s location and remotely as part of the project team.
