Overview

This role is responsible for capital formation for a privately held investment ecosystem focused primarily on real estate, with additional allocations to tech, insurance, energy, and other alternatives. The organization is seeking a Director of Capital Formation (High Net Worth) to fund the next real estate cycle and ensure deals are fully funded and on time. This position is fully remote.

The role owns direct equity raising from high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) investors and family offices across the private equity real estate platform, and builds a repeatable capital-raising engine supported by disciplined CRM tracking, forecasting, compliance rigor, and an investor community strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Own direct capital raising from HNW, UHNW, and family office investors, fully funding every deal on time.
  • Carry a personal raise while leading the raising team as a player-coach.
  • Run the full capital-formation funnel from lead to accredited verification to funded capital, using disciplined CRM hygiene and reliable forecasting.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and develop raisers from zero to producing; manage by the numbers and make decisive performance decisions.
  • Generate new capital through outbound efforts, events, referrals, and other high-return channels.
  • Build and grow an investor community through investor summits, leadership dinners, webinars, proactive reporting, and impact storytelling.
  • Drive reinvestment and referral rates across the existing investor base.
  • Represent the organization as a face to investors, including in-person presence and professional representation on LinkedIn.
  • Feed market signal, objections, and channel results back to marketing.
  • Partner with acquisitions, asset management, finance, and investor relations to keep investors accurately informed.
  • Maintain compliance for every raise with SEC, FINRA, Regulation D, and accredited investor verification requirements (in partnership with legal).
  • Build the systems and infrastructure required to scale capital formation from hundreds of millions in equity to billions.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years raising capital directly from HNW and UHNW investors, with verifiable results in capital raised and funded.
  • Track record recruiting, managing, and training capital raisers from zero to producing.
  • Sales-operations discipline across CRM, pipeline management, and forecasting.
  • Working command of SEC, FINRA, Regulation D, and accredited investor verification requirements.
  • Experience building investor events and community programs that drive reinvestment and referrals.
  • Proficiency with at least some of the following platforms: Juniper Square, InvestNext, SyndicationPro, Salesforce, HubSpot, and DocuSign.
  • Polished, high-end presence in person and on LinkedIn; ability to communicate investment and mission story with conviction.
  • “True hunter” mentality with ability to perform based on personal execution (not reliant on an inherited book of business).
  • AI-fluent with tools such as Claude or ChatGPT and able to operate at scale.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Real estate private equity or syndication experience strongly preferred.
  • Deep UHNW, family office, and wealth advisor relationships.
  • Exposure to other alternative investments.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: Commensurate with experience and market standards.
  • Opportunity for performance-based bonus and/or equity in deals and funds.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with company matching.
  • Fully remote work environment.

Location

  • Fully remote.
