Finance and HR (Remote)

Overview

This role manages and optimizes the finance function for a fast-growing organization involved in venture capital and early-stage investing. You will oversee day-to-day operational finance, collaborate closely with the venture capital fund accounting and finance team, and help build the foundation needed for scaling.

Remote candidates will be considered. Applicants for this role need to be based in the U.S., preferably in the Bay Area.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial operations of a fast-growing startup
• Own forecasting and budgeting
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, and payroll
• Assist with hiring, benefits, and human resources
• Work closely with the fund accounting and finance team
• Provide financial reports to the leadership team and Board
• Manage State and Federal compliance and reporting
• Implement accounting and other finance software systems
• Manage the cap table

Requirements

• 5+ years of finance experience, including accounting, FP&A, and systems
• Experience in a rapidly scaling fintech environment
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Track record of success working with cross-functional teams
• Background in financial modeling and projections
• Proficiency with Excel and Google Sheets, and experience with a modern finance stack
• Understanding of the nuances of accounting with startup investing
• Proactive attitude to tackle opportunities and challenges
• Ability to create and leverage logical solutions to complex problems
• Detail-oriented and analytical approach
• Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks; strong organizational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Interest and/or experience in the venture capital industry
