Overview
A medical devices company is seeking a Financial Analyst for a 6+ month contract position with the possibility of permanent employment. The role supports plant finance functions within operations finance, focusing on inventory and cost accounting for manufacturing plants.
Location
- Warwick, RI or Franklin Lakes, NJ
- Remote work possible but candidates must commit to East Coast hours
Schedule
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- 1st shift
Responsibilities
- Support plant finance functions within operations finance
- Collaborate with cost center and plant managers, functional leaders, and Finance Business Partners to develop annual budgets and quarterly projections
- Document assumptions clearly and post in JDE ERP system
- Own cost accounting functions for manufacturing plants
- Record month-end journal entries including accruals, reclasses, charge in/outs, and prepaid amortization for all supported cost centers
- Ensure accurate financial reporting in JDE
- Analyze financial variances for cost center actuals, projections, and budgets
- Compile month-end balance sheet account reconciliations
- Support inventory accounting and inventory reserve analysis
- Provide ad-hoc analytical support to cost center managers as needed
- Assist with project support for continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
- Minimum 2 years of experience in financial analysis or accounting
- Experience with JDE or SAP ERP systems
- Strong inventory and cost accounting knowledge
- Experience with general ledger, forecasting, and balance sheet management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment with strong attention to detail
- Self-driven, proactive, and focused on continuous improvement
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
