Overview
This paid internship supports the Investment Accounting department by working alongside experienced Investment Accounting associates. The role assists with day-to-day investment accounting tasks, monthly/quarterly deliverables, and system testing and optimization.
To be eligible for consideration, candidates must currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. The employer does not intend to sponsor work visas with respect to this position or future full-time employment opportunities.
The internship program runs May 17 through August 06, 2027.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members to learn investment accounting processes, industry regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
- Assist with investment accounting systems, including data entry, validation, and maintenance within the investment subledger database.
- Support preparation of monthly and quarterly workpapers and supporting documentation for financial reporting and account reconciliations.
- Assist with the pre/post implementation and ongoing optimization of the Singularity investment accounting system through testing, data validation, and process documentation.
- Participate in quality control activities by helping verify the accuracy and completeness of investment accounting data.
- Analyze data from the new system to improve data organization and create control and reporting efficiencies.
- Conduct basic analysis of account balances and variances and document findings for review by senior team members.
- Support cash balancing activities, including researching suspense transactions, account reconciliations, and preparation of financial reporting schedules.
Requirements (Minimum)
- Progress towards a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related discipline.
- Status as a rising junior or rising senior, approx. graduation dates of December 2027–June 2029.
- Availability to work 40 hrs/week for 10–12 weeks during the summer.
- Candidate location in Central or Eastern US time zone is preferred OR willingness to work Central or Eastern time zone business hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship experience.
- Balancing education and a part time job during the school year.
- Demonstrated interest in investments, financial markets, and investment accounting through coursework, projects, internships, or extracurricular activities.
- Hands-on experience with AI and desktop data visualization/business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, advanced Excel, etc).
- Participation with university clubs.

Location
- Supports a flexible work environment.
- This position may work fully remote from any US-based location, provided the candidate is able to work Central or Eastern Time hours.
- All work must be performed within the United States.
- Occasional travel to corporate offices may be required.
- Associates living within 60 miles of a corporate office (Carmel, IN; or Chicago, IL) have access to work from that location as needed.
