Overview
This role is for a Financial Analyst within the Development & Community Advisory team focused on Affordable Housing. The position involves working alongside experienced leaders to deliver financial advisory services to real estate clients, contributing to complex transactions and client outcomes. Responsibilities
- Support transaction structuring and financial modeling, including integrating multiple tax credit programs, incentives, and nontraditional financing sources
- Assist in securing debt, equity, and other financing sources, including supporting negotiations with funding partners
- Assist with acquisition, preservation, disposition, recapitalization, and portfolio strategy assignments for real estate clients
- Support transactions involving low-income and historic tax credits, including preparation of application materials and analysis to maximize value
- Research industry and technical topics, compile relevant data, and present clear, actionable findings
- Provide consulting support to help clients achieve strategic, financial, and operational objectives
- Contribute to additional real estate analyses, including market-rate projects, syndicated transactions, and end-of-compliance-period assessments
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (4-year degree)
- Minimum of 3 years professional experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in financial modeling and/or low income housing tax credit (LIHTC) applications
- Experience with affordable housing funding sources such as LIHTC, HOME, FHLB, and HUD programs
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and Word, with ability to manage complex financial models
- Ability to prepare applications, supporting documentation, and other detailed client deliverables accurately
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including professional email drafting and clear project updates
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, polished work
- Demonstrated commitment to client service and continuous learning on relevant programs, policies, and strategies
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, stay organized, meet deadlines, and follow through on assignments
- Self-starter with initiative, able to work independently and seek guidance when needed
- Curious and motivated learner with strong critical thinking skills and genuine interest in clients, real estate transactions, and the LIHTC industry
Compensation & Benefits
- US National pay rate range: $84,000 - $164,300
- California pay rate range: $77,800 - $164,300
Actual compensation depends on factors including skills, experience, qualifications, certifications, work arrangements, and geographic location.
