Manager Market Accounting

Overview

This role manages and develops market accounting professionals and serves as a market expert to identify and resolve facility-related accounting issues. Responsibilities include reviewing facility financial data, performing facility-level financial analysis, and supporting partnership financial reporting with an appropriate level of internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Manage, develop, and mentor market accountants
• Build team knowledge bases and act as a market “expert” for facility-related accounting issues and questions
• Create a culture focused on achievement, customer service, clear and thorough communication, and team growth and development
• Review financial data for assigned facilities, including:
  • Balance sheet
  • Income statement
  • Journal entries
  • Distributions
  • Reconciliations
  • Other supporting schedules
• Perform comprehensive analysis of facility-level financial statements and summarize key trends, performance measures, and financial results for management reporting
• Provide timely and accurate partnership financial statements and maintain an appropriate level of internal controls
• Lead process improvement initiatives within Market Accounting and Support Services
• Assist management with oversight of special projects and/or ad hoc reporting needs
• Develop and maintain quality relationships with Support Services and facility teammates

Requirements

• BS in Accounting required
• CPA strongly preferred
• 6+ years’ experience in corporate or public accounting (healthcare experience preferred)
• 2+ years management experience required
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and statistical skills
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork, organizational, and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and efficiently with acute attention to details and deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated teamwork and partnership with Support Services and facility teammates
• Ability to interact professionally with company officers and directors
