Overview

A global digital health organization is seeking a Tax Manager to join their Finance team. This role involves managing all aspects of corporate tax compliance, planning, and advisory within a lean, high-impact environment. The position offers broad exposure across the full tax function at a growing tech health company and the opportunity to help shape scalable tax infrastructure and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review federal and multi-state corporate income tax returns, extensions, and estimated tax payments directly.
  • Own the quarterly and annual income tax provision process (ASC 740), including current and deferred tax calculations, uncertain tax positions, and financial statement disclosures.
  • Coordinate with and manage external tax advisors, Big 4 firms, and outside counsel, ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost control.
  • Support tax planning strategies to reduce effective tax rate and manage risk across federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
  • Research and analyze tax implications of business initiatives, new product launches, contracts, and corporate transactions; communicate findings to non-tax stakeholders.
  • Monitor changes to federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations; proactively flag issues or opportunities to leadership.
  • Support federal and state tax audits by preparing responses, gathering documentation, and coordinating with advisors and tax authorities.
  • Build and maintain internal tax policies, controls, and process documentation to support a scalable, audit-ready tax function.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Accounting, Legal, FP&A, and HR on tax-sensitive matters including equity compensation, payroll tax, and intercompany arrangements.
  • Contribute to tax due diligence and structuring support on M&A transactions and corporate development activities.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and tax technology tools to enhance efficiency across compliance and provision workflows.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of corporate tax experience, preferably with both Big 4 public accounting and in-house experience.
  • Deep, hands-on technical expertise in U.S. federal and multi-state income tax compliance and ASC 740 tax provisions.
  • CPA certification required; MST or JD is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working in a lean team with ambiguity and process-building responsibilities.
  • Experience with tax implications relevant to SaaS, digital health, or healthcare technology business models.
  • Experience with international tax matters including transfer pricing, GILTI, or FDII in a multinational context.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to translate technical tax issues for Finance, Legal, and executive audiences.
  • Proficiency with tax compliance and provision software (e.g., OneSource, Corptax, Bloomberg Tax) and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, Workday).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $125,000 - $145,000 USD (varies based on skills, experience, and location).
  • Eligibility for a comprehensive benefits package and annual bonus program.
