Overview
This role involves founding and leading a Forensic Accounting business unit in the United States. The Managing Director will serve as the credentialed expert behind the work and the relationship owner for referring attorneys, while partnering with engineering and product teams to automate manual work and improve quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Forensic Accounting business unit end to end, including strategy, client relationships, quality, and financial performance.
- Originate and grow the book of business by bringing existing attorney relationships/referral networks and expanding into new engagements across forensic investigation and business valuation.
- Deliver and sign off on expert work, including analysis, strategy, and judgment calls; put your name behind expert reports and testimony where required.
- Direct tooling development by defining what automation should do, including turning discovery documents, bank records, and financial statements into structured data and templated report generation.
- Set the quality bar by defining what defensible, court-ready work product looks like and reviewing/validating AI-assisted output before it goes to a client.
- Build the team as caseload grows, hiring and developing supporting staff while keeping the team deliberately lean.
- Collaborate with other business unit leaders on cross-selling to shared clients as the portfolio grows.
Requirements
- Credentialed forensic accounting practitioner with deep experience delivering litigation support, fraud and financial investigation, and/or business valuation, including expert-witness experience.
- Portable book of business, with genuine existing relationships with referring attorneys who will follow you, or the credibility to build that book quickly.
- Senior practitioner profile: either a senior non-partner deep in delivering the service and ready to build a practice with real upside rather than wait for a partnership track, or a practitioner who has already gone independent and wants to scale with tooling, backbone support, and capital.
- Experience/expectation alignment: frustrated by the pace of a current firm and motivated to redirect time away from work that doesn’t require professional judgment.
- Clear point of view on automation, including knowing which parts of the work (data entry, document review, report assembly) should move to an AI-driven workflow first.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort building a practice from the ground up.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to actively manage a dozen or more matters at once.
- Experience with litigation support workflows that involve expert reports and testimony.

Compensation follows the same structure across all business units:
- Market base salary

Location
