Overview

A growing digital health organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their finance team in New York, NY. This role involves both technical accounting and operational responsibilities, with a focus on month-end close processes and managing financial systems that support day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead assigned areas of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and detailed balance sheet reconciliations with clear supporting documentation
  • Manage end-to-end accounts payable, employee expense reports, and corporate card spend using the Ramp platform, ensuring policy compliance and timely processing
  • Maintain and improve audit-ready workpapers and supporting schedules
  • Identify inefficiencies in accounting workflows and implement improvements
  • Explore and apply AI and automation tools to streamline manual and repeatable tasks
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Operations, HR, and other teams to ensure accurate financial data
  • Support special projects such as GAAP conversion, new entity consolidation, and automation initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting experience (Big 4 & CPA preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, month-end close, and audit processes
  • Experience with spend management platforms, ideally Ramp, including ownership of AP and expense operations
  • Demonstrated curiosity and initiative in AI and automation with a track record of implementing workflow improvements
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Experience with modern accounting systems and tools (e.g., Campfire, Ramp, Brex, ADP, Carta, QuickBooks, NetSuite) is a plus
  • Experience in healthcare, health-tech, or telehealth is a plus
