Overview

This role helps operationalize, standardize, and scale end-to-end financial data reconciliation across banking partners and internal systems.

You will own reconciliation lifecycle activities—from building and maintaining data pipelines and matching rules, to investigating exceptions, to reporting reconciliation health across the business.

Responsibilities

  • Own the design and implementation of end-to-end reconciliations for new and existing products and funds flows, setting standards for other analysts
  • Develop and maintain data transformations, enrichment logic, and matching rules that support accurate, scalable reconciliation across internal and external systems
  • Monitor and investigate reconciliation exceptions, lead root-cause analysis, and coordinate with Product, Engineering, Finance, and banking partners to resolve complex breaks and implement durable fixes
  • Build monitoring, alerting, and reporting to surface reconciliation risks, trends, and improvement opportunities across the team’s portfolio
  • Define reconciliation requirements and technical specifications for new products and funds flows, partnering with Product, Engineering, Data, and Finance early in the design process
  • Partner with Accounting to support month-end close and audit readiness by preparing timely reconciliation analyses, summaries, and supporting documentation
  • Shape and execute the reconciliation control roadmap, leading cross-functional initiatives and representing the Reconciliation team’s perspective as product coverage and operational complexity grow
  • Mentor other analysts through hands-on coaching to strengthen their technical and investigative skills

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience working with complex transactional and financial data in fintech or financial services, including reconciliation, settlement, payment operations, and accounting
  • Working knowledge of banking payment rails and card networks, such as ACH, wire transfers, RTP, FedNow, Visa, and Mastercard, including transaction flows, clearing, settlement, returns, and exception handling
  • Advanced SQL skills and hands-on experience developing and maintaining data transformation pipelines (e.g., dbt or similar)
  • Strong analytical skills with experience investigating and resolving complex financial data discrepancies
  • Familiarity with enterprise reconciliation or matching tools (e.g., Blackline) or similar platforms
  • Experience building monitoring or BI dashboards to communicate operational and financial metrics using tools such as Omni, Looker, or Tableau
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives and driving alignment across technical and non-technical partners
  • Experience mentoring or developing other analysts, with a genuine interest in helping others grow
  • Experience supporting audits, regulatory reporting, or financial-control testing
