Overview
A leading oncology research organization is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support Clinical Research Operations from a financial perspective. This fully remote position based in the US involves budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting to provide insightful financial advice that supports advancing oncology treatments.
Responsibilities
- Develop departmental budgets and perform variance analyses using historical data and predictive techniques
- Provide expertise in cost management, budgeting, and month-end financial analysis
- Analyze variances to standards and identify root causes
- Interpret historical trends to predict future financial performance based on cause-and-effect relationships
- Develop forecasting models with variance analyses and recommendations
- Prepare the Monthly Operating Report for executive management, including data support and root cause analysis
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Financial Analyst in pharmaceutical, clinical research, healthcare, or medical device industries
- Knowledge of business models and performance metrics related to healthcare or clinical research
- Advanced understanding of financial and accounting concepts within the healthcare industry
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; experienced with data extraction and analysis software
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively and persuasively
- Analytical mindset with curiosity about cause and effect, capable of developing models and drawing insightful conclusions from data
