Staff Accountant

Overview

This role involves analyzing revenue and expense accounts, preparing variance reports, and supporting the organization’s operating plans. The position also maintains finance reporting across business areas and assists with weekly projections and annual budgets.

Although this is a remote role, candidates must reside in CO, FL, IL, MA, MN, OH, OK, PA, or TX.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial data by collecting, monitoring, and creating financial models to support decision-making for revenue, expense, and strategic objectives
• Improve financial performance by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; and recommending actions to management
• Support weekly and annual budgeting processes
• Identify financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
• Provide trends and forecasts
• Increase productivity by developing automated reporting and forecasting tools
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across divisions
• Work with Oracle SmartView and Oracle Cloud EPM financial reporting
• Support forecasting and modeling with a strong financial analysis foundation

Requirements

• Strong analytical skills (quantitative and qualitative), including financial modeling
• Self-starter with the ability to streamline functions
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:
  • Advanced lookup functions (XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH)
  • Conditional logic (IF, IFS, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS)
  • Dynamic cell linking
• Strong financial modeling experience
• Extensive understanding of financial processes, systems, and controls, including responsibility for documenting processes
• Ability to prioritize workload with minimal supervision and manage multiple projects
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics
• Two (2) years of directly related experience

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $70.000 - $90.000
• Pay is based on factors including geographic location, education, work experience, time in role, and certifications.
• Eligible benefits may include medical, dental, life and disability insurance, 401k, paid time off, and select paid holidays (benefits are based on eligibility).

Location

• Remote (must reside in CO, FL, IL, MA, MN, OH, OK, PA, or TX)
• Travel: 10–25% (travel to Denver)
