Overview
A research and strategy organization is seeking a Staff Accountant with 3-5 years of experience in the Government Contracting industry. This role is part of the Finance and Accounting team and supports various accounting functions.
Responsibilities
Accounts Payable:
- Process accounts payable purchase order vouchers using Deltek Costpoint
- Send accounts payable reports to the Director of Accounting for payment approval
- Prepare payments for accounts payable in Deltek Costpoint
- Investigate vendor-related inquiries
- Process expense reports and reconcile company credit cards using Deltek Time & Expense
Accounts Receivable:
- Record electronic deposits and cash receipts to client records
Cash and Credit Card Accounts:
- Reconcile daily cash and maintain daily cash flow reconciliation
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and loans monthly
- Provide reconciliations to the Director of Accounting for review and approval
Reporting:
- File monthly and quarterly reports with appropriate agencies
- Enter journal entries as needed
- Maintain records and coordinate with outside auditors
- Ensure contract compliance
Fixed Assets:
- Update fixed asset tracker for additions and deletions
- Maintain records for fixed asset purchases and disposals
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint and Time & Expense required
- 2-4 years of accounting experience in a Government Contracting position required
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration with a concentration in accounting required
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude
- Strong team player able to work under tight deadlines and pressure
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Willingness to listen, learn, and multitask
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $60,000 - $65,000
